Day 13 and 14, May 27 and 28, Granon to Belorado

Miles walked: 10.9

Miles to go: 351.3

I thought a short 10 mile walk on a cool day was doable and it was but the pain I had not fellt when I got up in the morning was back and while the blisters were staring to heal they still weren’t right.

While in Belorado I reviewed my schedule and realized if I were going to meet and walk with my son Greg in Leon on June 10 then I needed to deal with the blister/foot issue now or we would not be walking together. Fortunately I had allowed for a number of days to visit sites that were off the Camino and those days along with a scheduled rest day on Bergos gave me time to adjust the schedule and just rest.

As a result I stayed an extra day in Belorado and rented a cab to visit the two monasteries I had wanted to see by walking. This gave me two days back in the schedule. On the morning of the 29th I took a bus to Burgos where I had schedule a rest day anyway. I now had three days in Burgos to rest.
